Getting ready for Halloween

This will be Titan's first real Halloween. Yes, he had Halloween last year, but he did not get any candy (he was only 3 months old) or get the thrill of dressing up in a costume. This is last year's costume. I don't think he really knew that that costume was any different from his regular clothes. I borrowed the costume from a friend since the Italians don't really celebrate Halloween and I could not find a costume in a store for him.
This year he is a Lion. I actually wanted to dress him up as a tiger but I could not find a tiger costume in his size, unless I wanted to pay full price for it. I found his Lion costume at a kids second hand store. Titan has a little board-style book all about Tigers. On the last page it says "Big tigers "roar". Little tigers say "meow" Titan loves to read that book and everytime he sees it he ROARS, just like the tigers. So that is why I wanted him to be a tiger for Halloween. Titan seems to think, now, that every animal roars. Dogs roar, cows roar, fish roar...every animal roars....except, of course, the lion. The lion doesn't say anything. At least he doesn't say anything when I ask him "what does a lion say?" Oh, well.....at least he is cute in his little lion costume. We had a squadron kids Halloween party and a church Halloween party this past weekend. Here is picture of Titan in his Lion costume. I just love my little lion!!!!

We also went to the Tolmachoff Farm last Saturday. The farm is more of a patting zoo/corn maze/pumkin patch. It also sells the produce that is grown there, but I think it makes the most of its money from all of the fun kid stuff. Titan saw lots of animals and also picked out his own pumkin for Halloween. Here are some of the pictures of the fun time we had there.

Oh, BTW, Titan has a new word. It's "Nana". We were in the grocery store the other day and as I was walking through the produce he reached out and said "nana". He was trying to grab a banana.

More cute and not-so-cute things

CUTE!!!

Titan has a sweet, high pitched FAKE laugh. I don't know why but he likes to use this laugh a lot!!! Especially when he is doing something, or about to do something, that he knows he is not supposed to do. The laugh itself is adorable. It literally sounds like "hee, hee , hee". Three little hee, hee, hee's in a pitch that I can't even replicate. I will try to get it in video and post it soon.

Not-So-Cute

Titan loves to throw his food. He thinks it is absolutely hilarious to throw the food on the floor. He really likes it if Rocky comes over to eat what he has thrown. (although Rocky is pretty particular about what food he eats.....no fruit!! or Veggies) Titan laughs his fake laugh when he throws his food, though.

(maybe this next one could be considered cute...you decide. Leave a comment and let me know what you think)
Package checks! Yup, that's right! Package checks! I have to dress Titan in a onesies shirt or one piece pajamas to stop him from doing package checks. Titan discovered his penis about two months ago, but it wasn't until one month ago that he started doing package checks ALL DAY LONG!! or all NIGHT long!!! For a few days in a row Titan woke up with his pajamas soaked all the way through. I originally thought that he had outgrown the size 4 diapers. But the diapers were made for babies 18 to 28 pounds. Titan currently is about 22pounds, so he can't need bigger diapers!!! Then, while I was changing his soaked through diaper, I realized that it was because his diaper was practically falling off from having his hand down the front of his diaper the WHOLE night. So of course his jammies where wet!!! During the day he would do package checks but I had made a game out of pulling his hand out of his diaper so it was funny. But he couldn't have his hand down the front of his pants the whole day because he would need it to crawl around or to eat or whatever. And I give him more diaper changes during the day.
Now I just put him in a one piece shirt (onesies) (which makes him a bit mad, btw) and a one piece zip up jammies. No more wet pajamas in the morning! And hopefully no more package checks.....except at diaper changes. (oh well, what's a mother to do???)

Titan is .......

Titan is .....Walking!!!!
Titan is learning to walk. Each day he takes a few more steps at a time. It is so much fun to see him. He gets such a kick out of it. I love seeing his face light up and hear is sweet laugh when he is going.

It has been pretty difficult to get a video of him walking because he randomly decides to get up on his feet and go. I generally can't get to the camera fast enough. As soon as I get the camera he decides he does not want to walk, instead he wants the camera. Tonight Dixon was home and he got the camera in time to record a few steps. Yeah!! He is walking. Man, I am in for it now!!!

I have a nefew who is the sweetest thing. He loves Titan so much and worries about him all the time. Every time Taydom prays, he always asks Heavenly Father to help Dixon and I take good care of Titan and have fun with Baby Titan.

Taydom is very worried that Titan might fall down the stairs and get hurt. So I put this video on the blog to show Taydom that Titan is really good at going up and down the stairs. I don't think he will get hurt because he does it a lot and really likes it.

Cute and not-so-cute things Titan did this week.

NOT-SO-CUTE

Last Friday morning, (Oct. 3, 08) Titan and I went outside to wave bye-bye to Daddy/Dixon as he went to work. As we went back inside Titan saw the alarm controller-thingy and wanted to press the buttons. He has been going through this phase where if he sees a button he has to press it. He loves to see/hear the effect of it. I did not think letting him press the buttons would do anything because we are not paying a subscription for it. So I let him press some buttons for a little while and we then started doing something else. Later, when I was going to take the trash out, I opened the door and a bunch of beeps started going off. I pressed a few buttons on the alarm control pad, especially the "cancel" button a couple of times but the beeps just kept beeping. Then the real alarms sounded and boy was it LOUD! Rocky started howling and Titan started sucking his thumb and looking around with a worried look on his face and . . . I had no idea how to turn the "beeping thing" off.

After a couple of minutes of thinking it was going to stop on its own I went outside to the electrical box and turned all the power off. By the time I got to the power box, of course, the alarms stopped. I turned off the electricity anyways because I thought it would re-set the alarm controller-thingy. I turned it back on and went back into the house. Guess what?!?! As soon as I opened the door to go in the alarm went off again!!!! I ran back to the electrical box and turned off the power again. But it didn't work. The alarms kept going!!! It was so loud!!! Rocky was howling and now Titan was begging for me to pick him up. He was scared but sucking his poor thumb kept him from crying.

I put Rocky outside, picked up Titan and went to the neighbors house. At least I was dressed because I am not always dressed by this time every morning. My neighbor did not know how to work the alarms either because her's had never gone off before, plus she had a different kind. We stood out side for a while and tried to think about what I should do. After a while the neighbor across the street drove up and started unloading his groceries. I went over to him, introduced myself, and asked him to help me. He said his son had done the same thing with his alarm, so he knew just what to do. First he checked the electrical box, then he grabbed the ladder and went upstairs in my house. He found the siren in the A/C vent (I never would have thought to look there) and disconnected the wire from the siren. After that he went to the control panel and disconnected the wires on it. Finally the blarring stopped. AT LAST!!! Robert was the hero of the day!!!

Lessons learned...don't touch the alarm control pad unless you know what you are doing. And don't let the little boy who can reconfigure the computer in less than 3 seconds touch it either!! I love him though.

Cute!!
Usually I keep the stroller in the car or in the garage but yesterday after Titan and I came back from a walk I just pushed it right into the house and left it in the entryway. Later that evening I was cleaning up the dishes and Titan started pushing the stroller around the house. He was laughing and having so much fun until he got it stuck between the cabinets and the island in the kitchen. He started whinning and was trying to get it unstuck. He wasn't having much luck getting it unstuck so I went over to help him. I grabbed the stroller and started pushing it back to the entry way. As I was doing this Titan grabbed onto it an pulled himself up onto his feet. Once he was on his feet he started climbing on it. I thought, "okay, if it will make you happy" and picked him up and put him in the stroller. He got a huge smile on his face and started reaching for the door. Rocky saw this and started getting excited. He came up to me and wagged his tail and whined until I got the hint. They both wanted to go for another walk. I can't believe that I got conned by a 14 month old and a dog!!! We went for another walk.
